About Us Our Day The Venue Alternative Hotels The Honeymoon Gifts Gallery

We found the venue almost by accident. I was down in Devon visiting a client and did a search the night before to see if there were any possible wedding venues in the area. One of which was Bindon House. I had a look around it that day, took a few photos & showed them to Kerrie, who's inital reaction was luke warm! She didn't like the colour of the carpet in the restaurant!! So, after a bit of nagging from me, we went down that weekend to have a proper look. She warmed to the place instantly and our mind was basically made up then and there.

Steeped in history, the core of Bindon House dates back to the 1600's.

The Malet family acquired the site in 1520, and owned it until the early 1700's. Various houses existed on the site, but the present manor was built around the time of the English Civil War. After the Malet's sold the estate, it passed through a number of owners, until Mark and Lynn Jaffa purchased the house in 1996 and converted it into a country house hotel

Bindon has now been meticulously restored into one of Somerset's finest hotels, the historic oak panelled Wellington Bar, with its open fireplace, is the place to relax with an after dinner drink with coffee and petits fours or play a game of chess.

Amongst the seven acres of stunning formal and woodland gardens are a heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, croquet lawn, a rediscovered rose garden and a Victorian Orangery. The 180 acre Langford Heath Nature Reserve is five minutes walk away

In the hotel's Wellesley Restaurant, gifted chef, Michael Davies, has created an integration of classical French cuisine with imaginative modern British cookery. The restaurant has already won a reputation for excellent food and wines.
